PDP ASPIRANT FOR ABI/YAKURR RACE KIDNAPPED

A front line aspirant jostling for the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency ticket under the platform of the People's Democratic Party, Engineer Jerome Egbe has been adducted and whisked away to unknown location by unknown gunmen.
Information available has it that he was abducted at 11 am in a mechanic workshop around Asari Iso Layout, Calabar yesterday at gunpoint.

According to one of his boys who was with him at the time of the incidence, Idoh Cyprian who was seriously beaten and wounded by the assailants while trying to prevent the unfortunate incidence "As you can see on the pictures what happened to me when trying to defend my boss. I therefore call on the youths and well meaning Nigerians to request for the release of our brother considering the time frame of the party primaries forthcoming"

The Cross River State Police command confirmed the incidence. Responding to a text message sent to them for confirmation, the police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo confirmed the incidence saying "Confirmed. We are working on his release".

When contacted the Head of Department of Civil Engineering, CRUTECH where Engr. Jerome is a staff, Dr. Desmond Ewa called on the security agencies and state government to intensify their efforts towards ensuring the safe release of their colleague who happened to be an immediate former financial secretary of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), CRUTECH branch. He said " I call on the Cross River State government to please use the security apparatus and see to the release of Engineer Jerome of Civil Engineering from his abductors".

So far there has been massive advocacy calls from well-known social media influencers in Cross River state advocating for the safe release of comrade Jerome who incidentally is a former Student Union Government (SUG) leader and a former president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS). The release Jerome campaign with harsh tag "Free Jerome" has gained so much publicity across social platforms
